Our Christmas gift to each other was a few days at a B&B. With all that guilt that we ought to call someone or be doing something, or preparing our next meal—all that left somewhere else, we lounged and read and talked to our hearts’ content.

It was a magical time with fabulous food, quiet evenings of conversation, and plenty of time to explore the rich culture of the area, hike the hills, or just relax on the porch and rock.

Snug Hollow is as authentic as tourism gets anywhere. Highly recommended for anyone who loves nature, wildlife, peace and solitude.

Barb told us about Tater Knob Pottery… We ended up spending the whole day talking with the owners and making pots, which they then glazed and fired. Barb listened to the kids’ stories of pottery making to the last detail.

My husband enjoyed the remoteness and viewing turkey and deer right from the cabin porch while having morning coffee. Our 10- and 11-year-old daughters loved the whole stay. The experience exceeded our expectations!

My favorite part was the pond. It was so fun to sit in the hammock and watch the butterflies and see the bull frogs. It is a very peaceful and fun place. I hope that we can go back there soon.

Wabi sabi is a Japanese term celebrating all the marks that time, weather and loving use leave behind. Their beauty is in their cracks, chips, dents and stains. Their beauty is in their history.
Snug Hollow is wabi sabi in the purest sense. It feels like home and its charm inspires and comforts the soul.
